Meet Andrea Wilson McCoy!
Young Actors Studio
Hello! I’m Andrea and I am a firm believer in the power of theater as an educational and developmental tool for young people. Over the past decade or so, I have been lucky enough to join countless children and young adults as they grow through the arts. I started my teaching career in Connecticut at Oddfellows Playhouse; teaching acting classes and directing productions such as Holes and Peter Pan. While in Connecticut, I also served as an arts educator at the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts, Hartford Magnet Middle School, Killingworth Elementary School and other area youth programs. After relocating to the Boston area, I earned an M.Ed from Lesley University and taught theater at UP Academy Boston and the Boston Arts Academy. I hold a B.A. in theater and English from Wesleyan University and Massachusetts DESE preliminary licenses in Theater, Moderate Disabilities, and English. I have a particular interest in utilizing the unique power of theater to allow individuals to see the world through another perspective. I look forward to learning as much from my students at Let’s Sing! Let’s Dance! Let’s Act! as they learn from me.
